I PUT IN A NEW FUSE IN AND IT STILLS BLOWS. (20AMP) CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT THE TRUCK HAS 40,200 MILES ON IT. THANKS
A: You don't have an issue with the PCM.
The ECM B fuse is the main power to the fuel pump when the relay is closed.
Remove the fuel pump relay, and install a new fuse, if it blows then it's in the fuse box. If it doesn't blow then either the gray wire going to the pump is shorted to ground. Shorted relay (try swapping the relay with another relay that looks like it, they're all the same) or a bad fuel pump.( my guess is the fuel pump ) see it all the time.

A: depending on engine I would think 23 or 24 mpg at 18 gallon fill up depending on tank.

A: Could mean alot of things. From the simple to something major. Whatever you do dont ignore it. Engine light is an indication that something needs attention right away. Take it to Autozone or similar auto store and they can hook it up to a handheld diagnostic device that will display the code and possibly give a readout of the specific item. If it only gives the code you can go to the library and look it up in a chiltons manual.
Q: 2001 Chevy S10 evaporative emissions system?
My 2001 Chevy S10 has been showing a code P0442 "small leak in the evap emissions system". The vacuum hose from the carb had disintigrated. Fixed it and code went away.
A week later the code came back and I suspect a further portion of the vacuum hose has gone bad, Problem is, the hose disappears into the drivers side fender well next to the ABS system.
Where does it go? What does it go to? I can't get into the fender without MAJOR disassembly. Can this section be bypassed with a new hose routed differently?
Try as I may, I cannot find a diagram of this evaporative emissions control system ANYWHERE !!

A: Vacuum hose routing can be found in a shop manual for that year/model or in a factory parts catalog.Try the public library for the manual or go to a dealer parts department and ask if they will help.
Q: My 2001 chevy s10 wont start?
I have a 2001 chevy s10 v6 4.3l. I have a brand new alternator and the battery is fine. when i try and start it i have lights and radio and all that it just about starts but doesnt fully. I was thinking starter but its not. my other guesses was fuel filter/pump or an electricl problem such as spark plugs.
i have put it to on and listened for the hum and didnt hear anything..i havnt check the plugs yet but will try that as well.
A: Yeah thats it, press the shrader valve and use your finger to calculate the psi on the line and compare it to specs on alldata or mitchell.
Fyi shade trees, you dont check fuel pressure by sticking something into the shrader valve to see if it gets gas or simply by "listening" for a fuel pump hum.
Q: Bad MPG on 2001 Chevy S10 ZR2?
I have a 2001 chevy S10 ZR2 with the widestance package and the larger tires. I drive city about 99% of the time and I am getting 10 mpg on average. Sometimes less. When my tank is over half full I will sometimes smell gas but I never see a puddle. Is there anyway to increase this? I heard about o2 sensors and fuel pressure and fuel regulator sensors. How do I know if these are still working properly? There is just over 100,000 miles on it now
A: Sounds like a U-Joint. U-Joints can increase the friction in your drive train and reduce your fuel efficiency by 40%. try replacing it. It's easy to do and you'll be happy you did. You'll know for sure if it feels like you have a lot more pickup when you hit the gas

Ive been searching for a truck, and i am too stubborn to change from Chevy. I just saw a 2001 Chevy S10 4.3L 4x4 on Yahoo Autos at a Chevrolet dealership. It is in very nice shape with 91,000 miles which is nothing for a 4.3L. My GMC Safari van has 223,000 miles with a 4.3L, and still runs great. However, i have never owned a 4X4 before. Are those 4x4 systems reliable?
A: chevy has been making these trucks for a long time and as a owner of a 93 s.10 4x4 with the 4.3 and manual trans reg cab short box, these trucks are buff, since the gas price rose to over 4 dollars a gallon i have decided to completely rebuild mine. i am getting most of my stuff i need from www.lmctruck.com these trucks are awesome and as a owner myself i would stay with them
Q: I want to turn off the anti theft on my 2001 chevy s10 radio before I disconnect the battery, how is that done?
A: You can't turn off the anti-theft feature....you need to buy one of these gizmo's which plug into your cigarette lighter port and operate off a 9 volt battery to keep the car from losing computer or radio memories and presets while changing or disconnecting the car battery. Parts stores and tool suppliers sell them as well as online sources. Or you can run jumper wires with alligator clamps from a spare battery to the cable connections in your vehicle as long as they don't interfere with removing the existing battery.

i need to take the door panel off of my s10 extreme so i can change the driver side mirror. can somsone please give me step by step instructions thanks
A: First step will be to remove any screws. Second for the door handel the clips or in between the plastic and the door handle use a knife to pop them. Once you have that out the way. They make a tool to pop the panel off if you do not have one. Use a flat head screw driver slowly pry it off. The have plastic prongs that hold the panel to the door. Some might stay in the door it is not uncommon for that to happen. Once you have it popped away from the door push up on it should come right off. There will be a little peace left. If I am not mistaken that is all you have to remove to take off the side mirror really instead of the whole panel. It just clips in with the same plastic prongs. The nuts or behind it for the side mirror.

My 2001 S10 is very clean and customized buy adding a grill on the front,roll pan on the back, adding street scenes side mirrors, 18" Budnik rims and a touneau cover for the bed. The engine is a four bangger with an airaid filter and a jet performance chip. My truck has 59,000 miles. What price would it be good to sell my truck? Is $10,000 asking too much?

weather is now cold. started truck(in park) and it surged forward slightly. happened twice, both times was sitting for a least 10 hours. slipped at take off after running about 5 miles.
