Q: Where can i find online info on torque specifications for a 2001 Ford F150 on the piston rod bolts?
Its a 2001 Ford F150 4.6 L V8. I need the torque specifications for the piston rod bolts. I either need you to give me the specs, or the website to access the info FOR FREE. I dont wanna buy a book for just this piece of info. Also, i begin work on the truck tomorrow, i dont have time to order a book and wait for it to ship. Serious answers only please.
A: There is a specific sequence in which the ALL the rod bolts must be tightened, but the actual torque specs. are as follows:
Stage 1: Tighten to 43 Nm (32 lb-ft).
Stage 2: Tighten an additional 105 degrees.
I was unable to copy and paste the actual sequence for the procedure due to the fact that it was shown in an illustration. I hope you are using new rod bolts because they are torque to yield specs. Hope this helps.

I have a Ford F150 Truck and was wondering if it was legal in the sate of michigan to have a newborn car seat in the truck or if i would have to get another car with a back seat.
A: As far as I know it's legal to have a child in the front seat of a pickup. What you may want to look into is disabling the passenger side airbag if the truck has one. Normally that's the main reason the front seat is a problem. If you have a passenger side airbag and no means to disable it (many cars have a key'd switch on the dash to do so) you can see a certified mechanic to possibly pull the fuse to the passenger-side airbag. Be advised, however, that if you're going to have other passengers when the child is not with you, they could be at a greater risk of injury.
If you have any more questions you can always call your local police (non-emergency line) and double check with them about the legality of it.

My 97' ford f150 broke down today, i need help. there is a a clicking at the fuse panel on the drivers floor side, it wont start, we tried jumping it but nothing, the hazards and locks still work but when i turn the key I get nothing at all xcept that clicking. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

is it a circuit breaker for the starter circuit? if so there is a short in that circuit. test each piece separately to id the culprit and replace it

I have a 1985 ford f150 pick up truck and my father just put my clutch in and now it has air in the lines. I need to know how to bleed it? Thanks so much.
A: There should be a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder, just have someone pump the pedal 5 times or so and crack the screw. remember (pump,hold,release and repeat) until there is no bubbles and you should be all set.
Q: Can i track/trace a transponder Ford F150 key if i dont know where its at?
My friend recently lost or misplaced his keys and we cant find them. Is there any way i can Track or Trace that key?

A: As far as wanting to know if you can track a Ford vehicle key, just because it is a "Pats" key, the answer is no.

A: yep follow the RED cable from the batterys it should be passenger side below the exhaust-manifold , follow the pipe down almost to the ground. also make sure you don't have another problem like a dead battery or loose or dirty cables.

i am looking into buying a 1987 Ford F150 4X4 and it needs a clutch slave cylinder soon, and wanted to now how much it would cost to repair. so i asked a mechanic and he needs to know if its an internal or external unit. so please answer asap. thanks.
A: Checked auto zone for 4.9l and 5.0 liter engines and both appeared to be external units. If you look under vehicle on left side of car, external slave will be visable. Generally has a red or black plastic line attached to slave. Slave is about 6 inches long and if clutch pedal is depressed you will see push rod move throw out lever.
Q: Can some one tell us which way the wires go on a Solenoid for a 1988 Ford F150 truck with 302 Engine?
My son has a 1988 Ford F150 Pick up with 302 5.0 engine his Solenoid went out and his Stupid frien took the old one off Before getting the New one Now we Do not Know Which way the Wires go. He wired it the way he thought it may go and the truck started without the Keys even in the Ignition they were in the house. Help Please.

Q: where can i find technical diagrams of a ford f150 ?
I need to find tech diagrams of the exhaust so i can figure out whether or not i can fix my truck or if i need to bring it in. i have a 98 ford f150 xl.
A: Usually Chilton manuals, sold at autozone, napa, etc.. have pretty good diagrams in the back of the manual, at least for electrical, and emisions. Its a vague question though, cant you just look and your exhaust and figure it out? or is it like an O2 sensor or converter? a leak should be detecable by feel with the vehicle running, or by ear.
Q: my 89 ford f150 air pump pulley and crankshaft pulley wont spin?
i have a 1989 ford f150, 5.0 liter 302 with efi, my air pump pulley and crank shaft pulley wont spin when the cars is started wich is cause the other pulley to spin very slow, how can i fix it?
A: Sounds like the air pump froze and sheared the key wedge in the crankshaft pulley. Pull the crank pulley and check the wedge. Possible the bolt backed off enough to allow the pulley to move forward but unlikely. Either way it has to be pulled and checked. Air pumps fail at no set time and I am surprised it didn't just strip the belt off. Must have been at a high speed and quite tight.

A: Ratttle Kattle is wrong... the 4.6L and 5.4L modular V-8's have a coil for every plug that plugs directly into the top of the plug. There will be four of these coil units on each valve cover and under the coils are the plugs. There is no distributor or spark plug wires to trace to find the plugs on these engines.
