Q: 2002 Ford F150 Mud Tires Swap?
I am wondering what size mud tire 33,34,35,36, etc I can use if any on my 2002 Ford F150 supercabs original rims that are 16x7. And will I have to raise the truck up to fit the new tires?
A: If its a 2WD then a leveling kit (less than $200)and 33's would look great on the truck. Its is 4WD you can fit 33's stock and 35's with a body lift. Or if you want a 6" suspension lift you can fit 35's. Or do what i have and install a 6" suspension and 3" body with 38's. Wayne
Q: I have a 2002 Ford F150. I cannot get the hood open. What can I do?
The temperature is cold, so I thought maybe that might have something to to with it. I have not opened it since the last time it was at the garage. It might be possible that they broke the cable? I need to get under the hood to fill fluids.
A: Pull on the hood latch inside the truck while someone hits the front center of the hood to pop it open, if this works, spray oil on the hood latch
Q: i triggered mt anti theft system on my 2002 ford f150 how do i get it to start without a remote?

Q: 2002 Ford F150 XLT Light Problems?
On my 2002 Ford F150, both the brake lights and blinkers have went out. All fuses are fine and the regular dash lights are still active. Someone said something about a module. Can anyone please give me an idea of what I may be dealing with? I'm lost on this one
A: It may be the body control module at fault. If you have had any water leaks into the dash, that will fry this computer.
Q: Blown head gasket on 2002 Ford F150?
I have a problem with my 2002 Ford F150 (6 cylinder). One day, the engine started very rough and remained so for a few minutes until cruise speed. The next 2 weeks – no problems. Then, the problem reoccurred along w/ the Check Engine light. I took it to my mechanic - diagnose … misfire on cylinder #6. They replaced the coil pack. The Check Engine light remained off for a day or two and then came back on. He replaced the cylinder sensor. Same deal - - light was off for a day or two and the truck ran okay but then the light came back on. I watched as he hooked it up to the computer - - misfire on cylinder #6 while the engine was off. However, upon starting the engine the computer showed a normal reading. The compression test they ran found no issues. I took it to the Ford dealership. Diagnosis = blown head gasket (based on tests they ran and sign of moisture on the tip of cylinder #6’s plug). Note: I have no losses in power, oil, or signs of white smoke. Any ideas?
A: look at your oil,see if it is milky or chocolate colored.look for signs of water in it,if not i bet its not the head gasket.
Q: Where can i get infomation on recalls for a 2002 Ford F150? Also, i need info on rear end?
A: Well the only recall should be the cruise control think located in front of the master cylinder. About the rear end if you are talking about what i think you are, it's not a recall. But i have a 01 f150 and The rear end is messing up which in my case is because of a wheel seal leak my axel bearings went out you should check on that
Q: 2002 Ford F150 supercab 4x4, 15" wheels instead of 16" wheels?
I am just wondering if I can use 15" wheels on my 2002 Ford F150 instead of using the normal 16" wheels that came with it. I know it will change the way the spedo reads but I don't care, I just want to make sure that nothing will hit if I used them. Also does anyone know what the bolt pattern is for a 2002 Ford F150 XL supercab 4x4 wheel? Someone told me it was 5 on 5 but I don't know what that means.Thanks.
A: I'm sorry but none of your question is possible. No, you cant put 15 inch wheels on a 97 or newer f150 pickup, the brakes are to big and the wheel won't clear the calipers. Also, your speedo won't be off if the overall tire size stays the same. And 5on5 means the are 5 studs on a 5 inch bolt circle, but you rims are 5 on a 135 mm bolt circle not 5 on 5. So to summarize, can't do 15 inch rims, and your bolt pattern is 5x135.
Q: 2002 Ford F150 4.6L Lifter noise?
Ok I can hear what seem to be the lifters/rocker/follower, really loud on my 2002 ford F150 supercab 4.6L at first I though it was a plug that was loose, Fords are known for plug blow outs so I replaced the plugs and changed the oil but I still hear the noise on the passengers side of the engine up at the valve cover, what could it be? A: If the engine runs good and has high mileage, it might be the timing chain guides that are worn out
Q: 2002 Ford F150 4.6L Cloyes timing chain guides?
I am in the process of replacing the timing chain guides for my 2002 Ford F150 4.6L engine and I ran into a problem with the new guides looking alot different than the old ones even though they do fit and are the right one for the year and engine size. If you look at the pictures you can see the difference between the two. will it be safe to use them or should I get a OEM set http://stcloud.craigslist.org/pts/609442031.html
A: To err on the side of caution, I would remove those guides and pay the extra cost for the OEM Ford guides. It doesn't look like they position the chain properly. These 4.6L engines are interference engines which means if they jump teeth, they WILL bend the valves. I am assuming that you have the engine timed properly by folding the chains in half, and lining up the copper links with the timing marks on the sprockets. Just a couple of tips when you reassemble everything. DO NOT forget to reinstall the crank sensor ring before reinstalling the timing chain cover. Since this is obviously a 4.6L Romeo engine you are working on, be VERY careful when reinstalling the valve covers. The rubber gaskets can easily fall out of the groove as you do so. Hope this helps.
