Q: Need Help, My new 2007 Ford F150, Transmission went Out????
I was driving my new 2007 Ford F150 this weekend, and the transmission went out it has only 6,000 miles. I called a Friend of mine who works for Ford as an Engineer. He was not surprised. He said since Ford is all most bankrupted, they are building vehicles with alot of cheap unreliable parts to save money such as using plastic on everything. He said, the gear on the speed sensor is plastic and many other parts. He pulled the warranty on the F150 transmission, and said that the Ford trucks are plagued with Transmission problems such as gear slip, leaks, torque converter, and etc. My Question, IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE FORD REFUND my MONEY OR BUY THE VEHICLE BACK, I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE GM, NISSAN, OR TOYOTA, ANYTHING BUT FORD?????

A: I just checked *NHTSA's site for: Recalls, Defect Investigations, Technical Service Bulletins, and Consumer Complaints regarding the transmissions on 2007 Ford F150's http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/index.cfm (*National Highway Transportation Safety Administration-office of defects investigations) There were ZERO results. Perhaps your engineer friend was mistaken. If he really is a Ford employee he would know that Ford is far from bankruptcy & has been out performing the other manufacturers that you mention above as far as quality, reliability, & dependability. http://www.fordvehicles.com/features/news/detail/index.asp?id=1567 http://www.jdpower.com/autos/ratings/dependability-ratings-by-category/large-pickup As the others have posted, your vehicle IS covered by a no-deductable, bumper-to-bumper warranty. http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO7ECO/~MUS~LEN/42/07frdwa5u.pdf All the contact information is also listed on the first page of the warranty book that I have provided. And you are also protected by a new vehicle "Lemon Law" in case there is something that cannot be resolved. Ford will not refund your money or buy the vehicle back unless you meet the requirements of the Lemon Law. To see what your rights are regarding the Lemon Laws of your state please visit the link below. http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/ Ask your local dealer to run an "Oasis" report on your VIN too. If your local dealers service department is anything like my dealers service department, they will be HAPPY to serve you. The technicians at my dealership are complaining that there is not enough work for them to get in all the hours that they have been guaranteed. I hope this helps.

Q: I have a 2007 ford f150 4x4 and a 29' travel trailer is it safe to pull?
I have a 2007 ford f150 4x4 4.6L efi v8 with the trailer tow package. It says its gvwr is 6900 lbs. I also have a 2008 pioneer travel trailer 29'. I plan on doing some traveling this summer but want to make sure my truck can do it safely. The trailers gvwr is 7500 lbs and its gross dry weight is 4591 lbs. The ford dealer said its fine and also did the trailer salesmen. But im not sure if they just wanted the sale or what. I thank anyone who could help me out here.

A: Should be fine. I used to pull my 6800lb boat/trailer with my dodge dakota which was only rated for 6000lbs. Never had a problem. Just leave yourself a little extra stopping room when you drive.

Q: where can i find a picture of a 2004-2007 ford f150 with TIS rims??
any link with a pics of a newer f 150 with rims by twenty inches strong (TIS) would be great. thanks

A: actually www.tirerack.com has neet softwear that will show you want most any tire and rim will look like on most any vehicle. i do not know if you can then print the image or not. never tryied that but I have played with the other things.

Q: What is wrong with 2007 Ford F150 truck?
Why does my new 2007 Ford F150 stall? It has happened several times, usually doing about 40-45 mph but not always. I picked it up today after the dealer had it for more than a week trying to find the problem. They insisted they can't find anything wrong but it stalled twice on the way home from the dealer. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks. The truck does not completely stop - it's like suddently it loses power and feels that it has died. But then, it sort of "jerks" and starts back. On one occassion I had to pat the gas several times. No warning lights, check engine engine lights, etc. come on. It doesn't do it every time but does it enough to let you know there definitely IS a problem.

A: Tell them to grab thier scan tool and then you take them for a ride until it stalls again. They can monitor all the engine and transmission parameters (and record them) while you are driving. If they still cant fix it then bring it to another dealer...and if still nothing then get your money back and go buy a Chevy.

Q: How do I install my driver's side view mirror on my Ford F150 FX2 2007?
My mirror was stolen and the small motor behind the glass mirror got damage so I need to replace it!

A: Pull off the speaker grille, remove bolts from door handle and pry off handle a little, remove power window switch pad assembly, there's a screw more toward's the back side of the switch assembly, remove screws at the bottom of the panel, raise panel to remove

Q: 2007 Ford F150 with a 4.2 V6, has a spark knock noise.?
Took it to the dealer and they said they did research on it and they said they found that it was a "characteristic" of these motors. ??? Has anyone else out there had this experience? Anyone else have this engine and have the same problem? It only happens when accelerating. I have put the highest octane in it before, but it doesn't cure it either. The thing barely get 15 mpg and I drive alot. Putting the highest octane in it to eliminate spark knock on a brand new vehicle is kind of a bitter pill to swallow.

A: Have you tried going up one grade higher in fuel and see if that solves the problem.. The new trucks have a anti knock sensor that retards the timing if the motor tries to pre-ignite. You may be running a fuel that is just low enough that the sensor can not overcome it.

Q: whats the biggest 18 inch tire that i can put on my 2007 ford f150, with out having to buy a lift kit?
where can i find 18 inch off road tires

A: for 04(non heritage)-and newer f150's. you can put a 33 inch tire on in without a levelling kit or a lift kit. now the truck already come with the 33" factory tire. i work for a ford dealer as a partsman, and we have done about 50 trucks with lifts, and levelling kits in the last 6 months. with stock parts (gears, suspension, etc), we only recommend 33" only. without the levelling kit or lift, you have to stay with that size. which is the factory size. big as you can go is a 33"x12.50x18 (PS. you can change rim size to what ever, even 20". no difference in overall diameter, only rim size hope this is a help to you

Q: 2007 ford f150 super crew 4x4 has a rumble between 50 & 60. its not tires and wheels. has triton v8 and auto.?

A: On my 97 GMC Pickup, I'd get a terrible rumble whenever accelerating. It was a combination of my water pump going bad, and my U joints going bad. I don't think it's your water pump, I could tell cuz whenever i accelerated it'd shake.

Q: 2007 Ford F150 Traction control?
I recently purchased an 07 F150 XL standard cab short bed with the 4.6L V-8 and 2 wheel drive automatic 3.55 standard rear end. I have a couple of questions. First, is there a factory installed traction control keeping this truck from slipping the rear tires on a full throttle take off? If I take off slowly, it feels like it would easily spin, but floored it didn't it's not a big deal, in fact I kind of like it, (it keeps me from doing something stupid) but I am curious. Also, has anyone else heard of the intake hissing on these motors? Dealer said it was normal and nothing could be done. Others on the net have had the same problem. Just had a few questions.

A: I got the 08 GT. I am sure we have the same tracton controll. With it on i can rev it up to 4 grand and dump the clutch and i get a little bark. With it off ill be spinning till my tires go bald. The intake?? Sounds like a leak get some starting fluid and spray all arouond the intake. If the engine revs up then u got an intake leak. If not your good to go.
