Q: How do you remove the plexiglass in front of the speedometer on a 2003 ford ranger?
I noticed today that there is an insect stuck behind the plexiglass in front of my speedometer. I don't know how he crawled in there but he's there. I try to ignore it but it bothers me. Does anybody know how to remove the plexiglass so that I could get him out or how much it would cost to get it removed by a professional? Thanks.

This only happens when I accelerate. If I am sitting idle or going at a constant speed I will not hear the noise. But if I try to speed up it will happen. From what i can tell when i drive it is pretty loud.

Are there any additives. I heard acetone will increase fuel miledge. I have the tonneau cover. I think I misspelled toneau. I have 20 in. rims. Does that matter??

Q: Ford Ranger 2003, manual transmission that occasionally is hard to put in gear.?
We bought a nice 2003 Ford ranger - very nice truck. However about every 250 miles it will occasionally be hard to put into first or second gear. You really have to slam it in gear, like if you did not have the clutch in. But the clutch is in. We took it to the dealership we bought it from and they say it's not broke! Has anyone had this same kind of problem with their ranger or explorier? It is 4 wheel drive.

A: i own a repair shop, and i just got done doing one of these truck, and we had to put a transmission in it ,,it was cheaper than repairing the one we had,it had bad synchronizes in it ,and made It shift hard sometimes,we found a real good used one with low miles on it for 175 bucks, and it was easier to install this than to re-do the original one in it,,you may wind up having to do the same thing some day,but it will last a long time like this,,it probably wont get any worse than it is right now, good luck i hope this help,s.

i have a 2003 ford ranger with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission that has trouble going into gear, it's mostly from a dead stop that i have trouble going into gear...the clutch slave cylinder is working properly...it's not leaking any clutch fluid...it's also been bled the clutch...what could be wrong?

Q: 2003 Ford Ranger side cab tinted window busted?
Hello, someone busted into my ford ranger through the small tinted window on the side of the truck where the extended door is. I called my local ford dealership and they quoted a $500 price. Is this correct or does anyone know where to find one. I went to my local pull-a-part but they only had older models that didn't fit. Total bummer that this happen to me! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A: Don't buy it from Ford if you can help it. And yes, the price they quoted you is most likely correct. There isn't much from Ford that is cheap lol. You can get that glass at a junkyard way cheaper. If your yard didn't have it, ask them if they have the Hollander system or a similar system where they can browse other yards' inventories. If they or another local yard can do that for you, they can find that part in another yard, and have it shipped to your local one, where you can pick up and pay for it. You may also want to check with some local places that sell new aftermarket auto glass.

Q: How do I replace the fuel filter on a 2003 Ford Ranger?

A: First, ignore the idiots who are telling you to take it to a mechanic. Those morons have never helped anyone do anything. They are as worthless as the crappy Haynes books that you buy from Autozone. I can help you change the fuel filter on your Ranger, "garage king". 1. Buy a new fuel filter made specific for your Ranger. If you buy a Chinese-made unit from a chain parts store, the filter will likely be smaller, but it will still work. I recommend buying a Motorcraft unit from a Ford dealer. 2. Lift up the forward edge of the passenger flooring a little bit to expose the vertically installed fuel-switch connector. It is a black plastic-bodied swich with a gray connector at the bottom. 3. Slip a thin screwdriver under the thin gray connector latch to lift it off of the tab that is keeping it it place. As you lift the latch off of the black plastic switch, push down on the gray connector. 4. Unscrew your gas-tank cap to relieve any possible pressure, then reinstall the cap. 5. Start your Ranger and let it run until it the motor quits, usually about 2-10 seconds. 6. Crank the engine over for about 10 more seconds. 7. Find some rubber caps or plugs to plug the stems on the old filter when you disconnect the fuel lines. Some new filters come with some plugs that you can remove and use for this purpose. 8. Locate your fuel filter under the driver-side frame rail in line with the driver-side door. You'll see that the filter is held in place with a clamp. If your replacement filter comes with a new mount-clamp, you'll need to remove the currently installed clamp by removing the one nut on the outside of the frame rail opposite the filter. If you bought a Motorcraft filter, you'll need to pry the old filter out of the mount-clamp because it will not come with a new mount-clamp. 9. There are three fuel lines going to the filter. Two of them have orange plastic clips visible, the third is green. Position yourself so that you are not directly under the filter. Place a drain-pan on the ground directly under the filter. 10. To remove the fuel lines, you simple "squeeze" the orange or green clips by pressing on the biggest visible part of the curved clip. You can gently use common pliers. While squeezing the clips, pull the fuel line back away from the filter. Cap the stems on the old filter to keep from spilling fuel all over yourself. Remove one line at a time. 11. Examine the new filter and notice the two-stemmed end. One of those two stems is larger than the other. PUSH the green-clip fuel line onto this larger stem. PUSH the orange-clip fuel line onto the smaller stem. PUSH the forward orange-clip fuel line onto the forward end of the filter. You should hear and/or feel a small "click" as you push the fuel lines on. 12. Give the fuel lines a good "tug" to make sure that they are locked onto the new fuel filter stems. 13. Wipe off any fuel droplets around the filter or on the frame. 14. Start your Ranger. It will crank for a few seconds before it lights up. While the engine is running, crawl under the truck and inspect for leaks. Use a flashlight and watch for leaks for one full minute. 15. Go get a beer or beverage of your choice. You just saved yourself at least $50 and you did a much better job than the monkey at the repair shop would have done.
