Q: '88 Ford Ranger Accessory?
For Valentines day, I wanted to get my boyfriend an accessory for his 1988 Ford Ranger, but I really have no clue what! He's really into the whole lifting thing, and he's really turned it into a nice truck. I love riding in it with him! I just want to get him something that he will appreciate, and I know he will. Help? :)
He has fog lights, and he wants a new lift suspension thats about $600.. but, i'm not trying to spend that much. Probably around $100-$200.

Which accessory will get better gas mileage? A camper shell or a tonneau cover.?
A: The tonneau cover is going to be lighter and will cause less wind resistnace (it will actually reduce wind resistance over the back of the truck when compared to an open bed). That's your best choice in terms of fuel economy (but not necessarily in terms of cargo carrying)
If the camper shell sticks up above the roofline of the truck, it's definitely going to increase wind resistance and make your mileage worse. It's also going to be heavier (because it's bigger) and that also negatively impacts fuel mileage. If the camper shell is even with the roof height of the truck, the main drawback is going to be the weight - wind resistance won't be that big an issue if the camper shell sits even with the roof.
